On the day of judgement we need to show up with Jesus Christ.Our foundation is Jesus Christ,he is our salvation.Works follow our foundation as if we were building.I think its impossible to show up with not works,because our faith will be counted as righteous.

To be fair, if I understood, calling in was planned by both sides, but something went wrong. They couldn't make a valid argument, but I'm not sure that they didn't want to try.
